4.5/5

I’d like to start by saying that the link I provided points to the Omnibus rather than the individual hardcovers that I have, but you can locate the hardcovers easily. The ones I’ve read are as follows: Knight Terrors, Terror Titans, Dark Knightmares, Knightmare League, and Knocternal Creatures.

I DID NOT PURCHASE/READ THE INDIVIDUAL COMICS, just the collected editions. I do generally recommend getting the collected editions or omnibuses when possible for comics, as it saves money and they are easier to manage, store, and maintain. When there is stuff that I want immediately or never gets a collected edition, I will get the comics.

Moving on to the actual review: This set is awesome if you like to get into DC’s characters’ psychology. It gives you a look into what their nightmares look like, which then lets you see more of their “soul,” if it can be argued that a fictional character has one. These are also great for providing a Halloween/horror vibe while not having jump-scares as most current horror movies do.

I like that this set focuses on a fairly good variety of characters as a whole. The main storyline, seen in the book just titled Knight Terrors, has excellent writing and art. If you aren’t interested in the nightmares of the individual characters, but you like reading DC stories like Batman or the Justice League, I would definitely recommend just that core story/book.

4.5/5 because nothing is perfect, so it will be a rare and cold day in Hell when I give something a 5 out of 5. Great art, awesome character writing. I am looking forward to reading more DC stories like these.
