A person awakens from what appears to be a stasis to a world they don’t recognize.
You can spin this any way you want. The random ideas that I had that seemed interesting are listed below. I am not writing it because I suck at providing enough narrative detail and therefore cannot successfully worldbuild.
Ideas:
- This was not actually a stasis – WHAT?! WOW! NO ONE SAW THAT COMING! — might be a bit cliché.
- Could be that they were teleported,
- Or abducted,
- Or they died,
- OR, my favorite, they are in a coma, and it is their mind coming to terms with their slow brain death. Happening over the span of only a few weeks of time in real life, they would get to live a full life in their head. The problem? They realize the world isn’t right, and they can hear people speaking to them as they slumber. But can they wake up and save themself?
- Could also just do it as described, where they now have to deal with their world being dead and gone to them. Dealing with the depression and how alien the world might seem to them now.
- How did they get into said stasis? They don’t remember signing up for it or anything…were they forced into it? Maybe they did sign up…were they sick with terminal illness?
- Maybe they remember more as time ticks by, as most amnesia stories go. That sounds like a creative liberty that I am not going to mess with.
If you do run with the story, I would only ask for acknowledgement. If I was going to ask for royalties, which I probably wouldn’t, I would ask for like .05%.
