Valentine’s Day 2025

By William Mueller

Good morning all. Whether you are married, dating, or single, it is Valentine’s day today.

I hope that everyone has an enjoyable day. Most people should, regardless of if they are alone or not getting anything, because today is FRIDAY!

For those whose “weekend” does not start tomorrow, such as first responders, production workers, mechanics, or military, I am so sorry that you don’t get to experience the true spirit of Friday today.

On to the spirit of the day, love or whatever.

I have a lovely wife who I met a number of years back, and I knew by the 3rd date that I was going to marry her. We complement each other well, we share the load of chores/cooking, and she even lets me play video games! That last one is the only reason that sentence got an exclamation point, because I see a surprising amount of people online who seem to have significant others who are against them playing video games.

I think that it is important to have someone, but I also think that it is important to make sure that whoever you decide to spend your life, or a good portion of it, with, complements your lifestyle. They shouldn’t be against your hobbies, or your friends, or your pets, or anything else that makes you you. If you think someone is the One, but their views go against one of your critical pillars of life, they are probably not the One. Compromise is important, yes, but one can only compromise so far before you begin to lose yourself. Definitely compromise on all lesser things.

Instead of ranting, I should probably say more about how great my wife is and how she is my anchor, and I love her. I also love my other family members and close friends, just with the other kind of love. I don’t know where or who I’d be without of them. Happy Valentine’s day.
